Lifecare Data Platform - from data to insights and better care

The data platform chosen by 13 out of 21 welfare regions in Finland.

Data-driven solutions, AI and cloud technologies can transform healthcare data into an asset and enable the rapid development of smart new solutions. Healthcare is undergoing a radical change, with virtual care and precision medicine revolutionizing the way healthcare services are delivered and consumed.

New solutions linked to this development generate enormous amounts of data from various sources. Healthcare data platforms are needed to collect fragmented data from various sources into a centralized data repository for automated data retrieval, modelling and storage.

Tietoevry's Lifecare Data Platform enables the efficient use of data in medical research and business development. This in turn can lead to better healthcare at lower cost. Our healthcare data platform also accelerates digital transformation through application and AI development, in a customer-driven ecosystem with multiple system providers.

Helsinki University Hospitals and Tietoevry has since 2016 co-developed the Lifecare Data Platform and in 2024 the partnership was strengthen further through an agreement on agile data ad AI development.

13:00-15:00 Nordic Hackathon for coordinated health and social care - Interoperability Lab Session

Imagine a shared space where we come together in real time to shape the future of coordinated healthcare and social care. That is what happens at the Nordic Hackathon (March 18-20). IT developers, health data experts, and professionals from across the Nordics join forces to build an open and interoperable ecosystem for health and social care.

Driven by real patient needs, we apply standards like OpenEHR, HL7 FHIR, and SNOMED CT to create tools that support patients with multiple conditions, ensuring seamless integration between healthcare and social care providers.

The outcome
Ideas and prototypes that bring us closer to a modern, interoperable, and patient-centred system—a future where every patient receives the care they need, without gaps or barriers.

The session will investigate how we can create integrated care treatment plans in the era of the EHDS regulation. What should we do to create bottom-up solutions that will be operable within the scope of the new EHDS regulation?

Building on the OMOP 101 session, this presentation shifts from why OMOP to HOW to implement it. Organizations looking to adopt the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) need to understand the technical, organizational, and collaborative steps involved.

Using Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) as a case study, this session provides a presentation of HUS roadmap to OMOP adoption—from data ingestion and ETL to quality control, the first federated real-world study to predictive models using advanced swarm learning.

From Theory to Practice.
